We are a start-up band/collective that has been playing together a few months.
We are 50% bar band, 50% songwriting vehicle, 50% jam, and 50% mathematician.
Our focus is on working up a repertoire of original and cover material with a goal of playing 4-6 shows per year.
Shows will likely start this summer.
Material so far is best described as Americana with just a whiff of funk.
Original indie/alt-country songs, a couple bluegrass tunes, some Dead, the Band, etc.
We're not doing this to get famous or get paid, as all of us have full-time work and family obligations, but we would love to play live music for people and have a good time in the process.
Ages 30-45ish, all competent players with good ears.
We are looking for collaborators who play fiddle, mandolin, banjo, horns, or other instruments besides guitar/bass.
All ages/races/gender identities welcome.
We get together roughly 2x/month, but this is a low-stress group.
If you can listen to and provide texture over a chord progression in real time, you will have no problem dropping in and out of our 3-to-4 chord songs.
If this sounds up your alley, please reply to this ad with an email (preferably with audio or video of you playing).
If you're comfortable with it, I'd like to meet up in person over coffee or tea before inviting you to a session.
