Role Purpose/Position Summary The role purpose/position summary is the same as in the Commercial Contracts Manager role profile, except that this role is primarily focused on contracts with Transportation Service Providers (TSP), with limited customer facing contract work.
This position will draft Master TSP contracts and the accompanying customer specific templates.
If a TSP redlines a contract, the role will respond to and negotiate legal/liability related redlines with the TSP.
In order to perform these tasks, the role requires researching contractual provisions in the related customer facing contracts.
After training, the ability to understand and advise on topics related to freight forwarding and international (ocean/air) transportation, complex provisions (i.
e.
indemnity, liability), and governmental provisions (i.
e.
FARS/DFARS/ITAR).
Assist DHL’s claim department in resolution of cargo loss or damage claims with TSP and/or customer.
The focus of any customer facing contract work for this role will be for DHL’s transportation services, primarily as a motor carrier for DHL’s Fleet or LLP services which might also include contracting with competitors.
Key Accountabilities: The Key Accountabilities / Primary Duties & Responsibilities is the same as in the Commercial Contracts Manager role profile, except for the following: - Advises the Carrier Development Team on contract issues - Strategic partner for Carrier Development Team on the development of new solutions - Assists with onboarding training for new Carrier Development staff so they understand how to interface with the CCM team - Leads training for the North America Supply Chain organization that covers understanding how to contract for transportation.
Participants may include other members of CCM, Carrier Development, finance, operations and business development.

we look forward to exploring career possibilities with you! Job Description Responsible for the development, negotiation, and drafting of complex commercial contracts and other legal documents between DHL and its customers and manages the contracting process within DHL.
Responsibilities Prepare first draft of the commercial contract or review commercial contract provided by customer.
This includes the contract terms and conditions along with the logistics-business-related content for the contract.
Negotiates and tailors specific contract provisions, within corporate legal guidelines, to address both DHLs and external customers requirements.
Work closely with internal business partners to review, edit, and negotiate customer contracts and amendments.
Analyzes contract language for risk and reward balance, determine exposures, and advise/provide recommendations to the DHL account team regarding changes being proposed by customers to DHL Responsible for submitting the negotiated commercial contract through the DHL Contract Approval Process for execution and maintaining its record in the DHL Global Contracts Database.
Assist DHL account team in reviewing and responding to contractual claims and disputes.
Responsible for gaining the applicable and necessary DHL account team inputs and sign-offs on all terms included in legal documents before releasing to customer.
Responsible for actively improving processes within the contract management function.
Identifies and leads the execution of continuous improvement projects for the contract management function.
Drives consistency in contractual elements of commercial contracts throughout the business through maintenance and use of standard templates and supporting tools (e.
g.
clause library, Risk Guidelines, DHL Contracting Guidelines, etc.
).
Provides guidance for contracting departments Analysts and Senior Analysts.
Conducts onboarding training for new team members as well as leads commercial contract management training for broader business partners.
Completes required internal and external trainings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience Bachelors Degree 3-5 years of general business experience, preferably in commercial analysis or commercial finance role Excellent verbal and written communication skills Analytical, reporting and presentation skills General project management skills Strong organizational skills which reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders Our Organization has a business casual environment and focuses on teamwork, associate development, training, and continuous improvement.
