JOB DESCRIPTION
The Software License Compliance Manager will be responsible software usage optimization; including cost-avoidance, risk-avoidance, speed-to-deliver, and increased usage flexibility.
The person in this role will conduct detailed software usage and contract reviews as part of that optimization.
They will also generate audit-readiness reporting and ensure that certification, audit, and usage reports are memorialized.
Additionally, they will ensure that the discovery tools are performing accurately and timely.
Responsibilities include software licensing and inventory management, which requires an extensive understanding of licensing terms/metrics of vendors like Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, OpenText, SAP, VMWare, Splunk, and Adobe.
Further, the Software License Compliance Manager will be responsible for managing the strategic partnership between the internal Software Owner and the ESM team.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including: REQUIRED 7 years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM) for both on-prem and cloud-based software including PaaS and SaaS framework B.

from accredited University Experience working with software product owners within the spheres of strategic planning and lifecycle management Knowledge and strong understanding of licensing terms\conditions\metrics from Publishers including Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, VMWare, Splunk, OpenText, SAP, and Adobe Experience with highly complex license metrics and calculations Strong knowledge of Software discovery tools (ADDM, SCCM, Altiris, etc.
